This edition of Running Adventures takes you along on morning carpool, a walk through the neighborhood, and, of course, some running. Not the usual long run recording….due to technical and operator difficulties, I lost some long run audio - but never fear, there is plenty of running.
The results of last podcast’s quiz are in. Maddy had the answer that Carolyn was thinking of. Kevin gave an alternative and valid answer as well. Thanks for playing!!!
A focus in this episode is my quest to run the Phedippidations World Wide Half Marathon while considering a young friend, Elijah Talley, who is battling neuroblastoma. He has a website where his family journal’s his progress as he undergoes his second round of chemo. At the end of the podcast I have a shout out just for Elijah.
Featured music this week from the Podshow Podsafe Music Network includes:
“Flow on Waterford River” by Jim Fidler
“Someday” by Katy Pfaffl
“Canyon Serenade” by Michael Mucklow (for the Elijah Shoutout)
The opening music is “Super soul” by 4saisonz and the closing theme is “Adventures of the Deaf Dreamer” by Josh Woodward.

We flew from Burlington, VT to JFK on a Dash-8 aircraft.
This edition of Running Adventures begins by taking you along with me and my daughters as we travel to Vermont for my Dad’s 70th birthday party. I didn’t do any audio during the trip except on the planes and at the airport. Every time I have heard the music for this segment (”Travel Song” by Causeway) I think about all the travel
Adam Tinkoff does with his job! After the trip you get to hear some running with my daughter and I. She presents a quiz this week to challenge your animal knowledge. Meanwhile, on my long run, you get to hear me get all philosophical. Let’s just say I was learning to be “in the moment.” I mention Adam’s great podcast
The Zen Runner - we all should take a Zen run every now and then.
I also have my first audio comment from Planet3rry of the podcast Gravity@1053!
I apologize once more for the sound quality. I think I have figured out what causes the annoying clicking noise on some of my runs (it’s the iRiver armband). I am going to figure out how to wire myself up with the microphone.
Featured music this week from the Podshow Podsafe Music Network includes:
“Travel Song” by Causeway
“Here Comes the Rover” by Jim Fidler
The opening music is “Supersoul” by 4saisonz and the closing theme is “Adventures of the Deaf Dreamer” by Josh Woodward.
Have a great adventure in the coming week!

This edition of Running Adventures takes you along with my daughter and I as we run the Go Red for Women 5K race. You will also hear some sounds from Seaworld where I went with my younger daughter the next day.
I apologize for the sound quality (hey, after all I am an amateur!). Race starts and finishes tend to be noisy places.
Featured music this week from the Podshow Podsafe Music Network includes:
“Ridin West” by Jon Schmidt
“Joy” by Michael Mucklow
“I Still Remember” by Jim Fidler
The opening music is “Super soul” by 4saisonz and the closing theme is “Adventures of the Deaf Dreamer” by Josh Woodward.
Other mentions this week:
Steve Runner and Phedippedations (short clip from his podcast)

Well this podcast has been a long time coming. I was about 85% completed when my computer crashed. But now that I have my computer back (and some time) I am able to publish Episode 2. It is a bit longer than my target 15 minutes but you will see why it was hard to leave anything out (and I cut lots).
Much of this episode takes place at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park near Gainesville, Florida. We went camping from March 10-14th. I take you on a couple of runs and a walk. After returning, I ran with my daughter on our noisy Lockwood Blvd. The comments toward the end were done at the campground - sitting on a picnic table near a lake early on a sunny warm morning.

Music:
Opening - “Super Soul” by 4saisonz
Closing - “Adventures of the Deaf Dreamer” by Josh Woodward
During the podcast the instrumental music is from Scott Wilder - a piece called “River Run”
Enjoy!

This is the inaugural episode of my new podcast “Running Adventures.” I must warn you that I am not a professional audio technician and so the sound quality is not always great (built in mike seems to overmodulate) but Audacity sure makes mixing easy
.
In this episode I take you on my first run since returning to the road after time off for my plantar fasciitis. You will also hear parts of a run with my daughter who has some interesting facts to share.
The intro music is a piece called “Super Soul” by 4Saisonz, the ending music is from the song “Adventure of the Deaf Dreamer” by Josh Woodward. The featured song is called “Run” by Mieka Pauley. All are from the Podsafe Music Network.
For more on Susan’s marathon read about it on her blog.
My plan is to produce this podcast about once every 2 weeks as time allows. I didn’t intend to feature music, but the piece in here fit so well I couldn’t resist.
Thanks for listening!
